The full exterior wash and decontamination first. Polishing over bonded contamination just grinds it into the paint.
What it is
Swirl marks, wash haze and light scratches are tiny defects in the clear coat, and they are what make paint look dull and cobwebbed in direct sun. Paint correction levels them out by machine polishing a very thin layer of the clear coat until the surface is flat again and light reflects cleanly.
It is the step that actually changes how a car looks, rather than how clean it is. It is also the foundation for a ceramic coating — a coating locks in whatever is underneath it, so the paint has to be right first.

Inspect under light
Each panel is checked under strong light to see what is actually there — swirls, haze, isolated scratches — so the approach matches the paint rather than a set routine.
Compound and polish
Heavier defects are cut back first, then refined with a finer polish to bring the gloss and clarity up. Panel by panel, checked as it goes.
Protect the result
Corrected paint is bare and should not be left that way. It gets a sealant, or a ceramic coating if that is what you have booked.

I literally feel like I'm driving a brand new car. It's incredible. Today's the first day I've been in it since he detailed it. And so obviously I'm just like wowed right now. I mean, Graham got in here, my nephew got in here, David, we were all like, oh my gosh, this is insane. Anyway, I'm going to tag him. Number one, go give him a follow. Questions, answered
No. Swirls, haze and light scratches in the clear coat can be polished out. A scratch that has gone through the clear coat — a good rule of thumb is if a fingernail catches in it — can usually be reduced, not removed. You'll be told which is which before any polishing starts.
No. Waxes and glazes fill and hide defects for a few washes, then they are back. Correction physically removes them, so the result stays until the paint is damaged again.
It's the best time to. Freshly corrected paint is as good as it is going to get, and a ceramic coating keeps it that way far longer than a sealant does.
Not necessarily. We just need access to the vehicle and somewhere to park it. Plenty of customers leave the keys and come back to a finished car — we'll text you when we're done.
